Minimally Invasive General Surgery
Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento

Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento offers a broad range of general surgical procedures performed using minimally invasive techniques. Unlike traditional or “open” surgery that requires long incisions, minimally invasive surgery (MIS) is performed through one or more dime-sized incisions. Laparoscopic surgery, one of the most common forms of MIS, is a technique using a small telescope that is inserted into the abdomen through an incision as small as 3 mm (1/8”). It brings light into the abdomen and provides a close-up view of the area. We also offer Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery, performed through the patient’s umbilicus for no visible scars.
Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento has a number of board certified surgeons trained in advanced laparoscopic surgery. With sophisticated technology and skillfully trained specialists, MIS offers many benefits to patients over traditionalor “open” surgery.
